Everything you need to know about Flot Chat — your WhatsApp-based financial assistant for sending money, buying airtime, paying bills, and more.
General Understanding
Flot Chat is a WhatsApp-based financial assistant that allows you to send money, receive payments, buy airtime, pay for electricity, and fund wallets using your card — just by typing what you want.
Anyone with WhatsApp, a mobile money account or bank card, and a valid phone number.
Directly inside WhatsApp. There is no need to download another app.
Because it removes steps. Instead of navigating menus, you simply type what you want and it prepares everything for you. Use Flot Chat when you want to complete transactions faster, avoid navigating menus, and do everything in one place.
How It Works
It reads your message and extracts three things: the amount, the destination, and the payment method. If all are present, it moves straight to confirmation. If not, it asks only for what's missing.
No. If you type everything in one message, it skips steps. If you don't, it guides you step by step.
Yes. No transaction happens without your confirmation.
Yes — before confirming. Once confirmed and processed, it cannot be reversed automatically.
Send Money
Yes. You can send between Orange Money and Afrimoney in any direction.
The bot will ask only for the missing information.
Yes. If you share a contact, the bot can use it as the recipient.
The process is immediate once you confirm and enter your PIN. The recipient also receives the money and an SMS notification right away.
Common issues include a wrong number entered, wrong wallet selected, link expiry before completion, or insufficient balance. Check the number, wallet, and your balance — then try again.
Receive Money (Payment Link)
You create a payment link and send it to the person paying you. They choose their own wallet to pay, and you don't need to be online when they complete the payment.
Yes. The link is time-sensitive and must be used shortly after creation.
Send From Card (Visa / Mastercard)
Yes. You can send money from your Visa or Mastercard directly to a mobile money wallet.
Processing is quick, but exact timing depends on the card network. There may be processing fees depending on the transaction.
Check your card validity, sufficient balance, and network connectivity — then retry. Common causes include a declined card, incomplete payment, or network issues.
Airtime
Yes — Orange, Africell, and Qcell. The network you are topping up does not have to match the wallet you are paying from.
Airtime is delivered immediately after confirmation.
Electricity (EDSA)
You can top up prepaid electricity (EDSA). This is a prepaid top-up, not a bill payment. You'll need your meter number, amount, and payment wallet. The credit is applied immediately after payment.
Transactions & Receipts
Yes. You can view your recent transactions in the chat — including transaction type, amount, and status.
Yes. Receipts are provided after successful transactions.
Security & Trust
Yes. Every transaction requires your confirmation and is completed using your secure PIN. No transaction can happen without your approval.
Only if they have access to your phone and PIN. You should never share your PIN with anyone.
Contact support immediately and do not share your credentials with anyone.
Troubleshooting
The bot will ask a targeted question to clarify, or ask only for what's missing. You'll never be asked for information you've already provided.
It may be a timeout, incomplete input, or a network delay. Try again or complete any missing details.
Just tell the bot what you want to do — it will guide you and handle everything. You can also contact support through the help option in the chat.
